Flower Frogs
My husband and I started collecting nearly 30 years ago. We both had a love for the Art Deco style and it was soon narrowed to ceramic nudes, particularly flower frogs. A flower frog was and is used to display flowers. The design could be anything, really, but it has holes in the base. The “frog” was placed in a wide, shallow bowl and water was added. Flower stems were placed in the holes of the Flower Frog to support them. In the case of the Dancing Scarf Flower Frogs, it would appear as if this young nymph was dancing in a garden.
The styles are endless, but we devoted our attention to collecting nudes. A very common style is the Scarf Dancer, in which a young woman is dancing with a beautiful scarf. There are many different styles and colors.
